I like this costume because it is a simple hoodie and it looks super comfortable! It would be perfect for pups who live in colder areas. Even the pups who weren’t used to wearing clothes that often probably wouldn’t mind being wrapped up in this soft fleece costume on Halloween!

Thanks to our awesome friends at The Honest Kitchen, we have the opportunity to give one of you a free 8 oz. box of their treats!
These treats are called “Nuzzles” and in addition to having an adorable name, your puppies are sure to love them. They are hand baked, wheat-free cookies that are the perfect heart shaped sized for any pup. They have a few different flavors, but this particular box is the Duck and Cherry recipe.
I have been giving these to my pups for a few weeks now and they love them! King likes to quickly inhale his as soon as he gets it while Tilly prefers to toss hers around a bit before daintily snacking on it for the next few minutes.

So, I had a wonderful experience today after I came home from work. (Insert sarcasm here) I opened up my apartment door and immediately I knew that something terrible had happened in there. The smell was tangible. I could taste it. I could literally taste the smell as soon as I opened my front door. I felt like I was in a horror movie, I didn’t want to go into the bedroom, but some unknown force was drawing me there for the reckoning. I slowly creaked open the bedroom door and there it was. The Poopacolypse.
King was sitting happily in his kennel in the corner. He didn’t seem to think anything was wrong. The regular “thump thump” of his happy tail could be heard against the wires of his crate. I peeked over the edge of the bed and witnessed what could only be explained as the Poopacolypse.
King had obviously had an explosive bowel movement. It was everywhere. Smeared all over the floor, the walls, and even on the carpet outside of the crate. It seemed that he had just taken his cute tooshey and pointed it perfectly outside his crate so he could poop on my bedside table.
My regularly brindle and white Bull Dog was now completely brown. The worst part was the feather pillow. He had taken his very nice feather pillow, shredded it, and then smeared it on top of his mess. Poopy feathers EVERYWHERE. A small whimper escaped my lips as a single tear made its way over my eyelashes. What have I done to deserve this?
I let my poop monster out of his cage and while trying to dodge his loving advances, ushered him into the bathroom. Trying to bathe a 65 lb, 7 month old who does not like water is quite a chore. After much wrestling, I was able to get him into the tub and eventually wash all the gross off of him. (It would have been easier if my shower head actually had some pressure. It was like trying to wash an elephant with an eyedropper)
I was able to eventually get everything cleaned up. ( I admit I made my husband finish the job. I was quite over the whole situation when I had gone through my second roll of paper towels)
King is now happily gnawing on one of his only clean toys while I sit here and recover. It is days like these that I have to remind myself that he is just a baby. A giant 65 lb. baby that has a lot of poop.
Happy Pet Parenting!
If your pups are anything like mine, their kisses aren’t always the sweetest! They love to snuggle up close and get in your face, but they always have that nasty dog breath.
I’ve always tried to brush my doggie’s teeth on a regular basis. I usually just buy a doggy toothpaste at my local pet store, but today I found this home-made dog toothpaste recipe that I really liked! The best part about it is that you can make it with ingredients that you probably already have lying around your kitchen.
1/4 cup coconut oil
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 cube of chicken or beef bullion
3 Tbsp. baking soda
6-7 mint leaves
All you have to do is measure out the ingredients into your blender and blend until the mint leaves are thoroughly chopped and everything is mixed nicely.
Put your toothpaste into an air tight container and store in your fridge. When you are ready to use, just take your puppy’s toothbrush and apply about a pea sized dollop of the toothpaste. It’s ok if your pup swallows this stuff, it won’t hurt them. Just make sure they don’t swallow any more than what is on the brush.
If you do this on a daily basis your best friends breath should be smelling sweet in no time!
